Slash and Syringe Resistant Leather Gloves

Slash resistant gloves are made in accordance with BS EN 388 in levels 1 to 5. Level 5 is the maximum. These slash gloves will resist an extreme attack from sharp knife edge to prevent injury during assault. They will also enable to wearer to grab a blade edge in the hands of an assailant with minimal risk of cut injury.

In extreme situations one may have to disarm or risk being fatally injured. In a situation where a knife is produced in a threatening manner you may have to physically engage the knife holder. Wearing these leather slash resistant gloves may provide you with a potentially life saving advantage.

Right is the inside of our police slash glove. In addition to a maximum cut level 5, the gloves offer protection from a number or other hazards.
The number on the glove tag (EN388) denotes mechanical properties in the following order:

First digit, “2” indicates abrasion resistance
Second digit, “5” is the cut resistance index
Third digit “4”, tear resistance
Final digit, “2” is puncture resistance

Cut resistance is a 1 to 5 scale. Abrasion, Tear and Puncture are scaled 1 to 4.

This glove is as comfortable as a normal glove. If you were to lend it someone - they would have no idea it was any different to a normal leather glove

To determine your glove size, measure around your hand at the widest point excluding your thumb. In the photo above the hand size is 10 (XL) - the nearest full inch. If you are uncertain of which way to go; say you measured 9.5”, then we recommend you select the larger size.

Spectra Fibre

Spectra is a HDPE fibre - this is actually high density “polythene”. It is ten times stronger than steel and 40% stronger than Kevlar. It is light enough to float on water, and has a melting point of 150 Celsius.

Every person who has tried to cut these gloves is absolutely astonished by the incredible resistance Spectra offers. It is no coincidence that it is used in some of military’s most advanced defence systems. Spectra (as a point of interest) is invisible to current radar tracking.
